We revised our engineering to reflect header sizes, stud spacing and additional room required to make the entry way “feel”.
The header and stud spacing will be more efficient with our lumber order and energy conscious with our design. The cavity where a beam would normally take up space can now be utilized with additional insulation. The stud spaced further apart allow for less wood and additional insulation.
We our installing straps at our foundation stem walls in lieu of all thread. Jason, of Kaski Concrete, Inc., suggested this method when discussing possible alternatives to evaluate our LEED goal.
